Dearest Beloved;
How are you? Grandma and Grandpa wish you the very best and we hope you are having a bunch of adventures and that you are well.
We are how now snug in our little cabin. There was an earthquake last week a few miles from here, but we were working out of doors and did not know; until the earthquake was all over, except for the talking about it.
The next big thing was a hurricane. There would be lots of water in the rivers. Lots of people from the East came to our County to escape the hurricane and to play in the waters. A sign in front of a store said 'Evacuees Welcome".
Grandpa and Grandma loaded up their Kayaks and went to paddle in the swamp above the dam. There were beaver and weeds and lots of birds in the swamp. Once we almost got stopped as we came upon a shallow log obstructing the way. We tried several times to get the boats up and over the log. We almost gave up and then Grandpa made a mad dash paddle to the log; jumped up to it; the Grandma rammed him from behind and popped him over.
Grandpa then helped pull Grandma over and we paddled up further before we came to a area so shallow and narrow, that we turned around and raced back to the truck. We stopped and got ice cream on the way home.
Loads of Love Grandpa and Grandma
